The task ahead

As always, I’m thankful for the weekend – especially after ‘overstuffed’ days without margin. I’m well on the way to feeling overwhelmed, with increased responsibilities , & big issues looming .

I’m sure some of you feel this way too.

I read three verses this weekend in separate places, that helped me gain perspective for the task ahead. I think they may help you too, whatever you’re facing:

*Bring it to God

‘Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.’
(Proverbs 16:3 NIV)

*Know He is able

‘Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.’
(Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV)

Or to put it another way:

‘God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.’
(Ephesians 3:20-21 MSG)

*Remember He has already provided all you need

‘His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises’
(2 Peter 1:3-4 NIV)

The tasks ahead are part of our unique God given assignment, so:
‘Show up in the place where you already are fully alive as the image bearer God made you to be’

‘When you go to God,
He will infuse you with
The strength you need
To do that which He has asked you to do!’
(Patsy Clairmont)

At the start of a new week:
‘Give up last weeks burdens, so you can head into the week ahead without them. Surrender all troubles to God & forgive yourself & others’
(Marianne Williamson)
